Congratulations to Maureen Fisk - great job at Michigan All-State!

Mark your calendars NOW for Tuesday, March 16 - 7:30 p.m. in the MHS Commons, when it's "Chips & Salsa" a fun filled evening of Jazz Music from our own MHS Jazz Band.  This concert is the fund raiser for the Danny Hansen Scholarship - a scholarship for Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in honor of MHS Trumpet Player Danny Hansen.  Come and enjoy the night, have a few refreshments, and maybe even take home some home-made salsa!!

We're working on Music for our Pre-Evaluations Concert on Tuesday, February 16 & our Evaluations which will be held on on Wednesday, March 3 - Friday, March 5.  We'll probably play on Wednesday, March 3, because that's the day we're hosting at MHS!!!

8th Grade Band

We're working on Music for our Pre-Evaluations Concert on Tuesday, February 16 & our Evaluations which will be held on on Wednesday, March 3 - Friday, March 5.  We'll probably play on Wednesday, March 3, because that's the day we're hosting at MHS!!!

DON'T FORGET - FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12TH IS THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO PERFORM AT DISTRICT SOLO & ENSEMBLE EVALUATIONS BEING HELD AT MANISTEE IN APRIL!!

Don't forget that your orange practice cards are due each Monday - A minimum of 30 minutes of practice, 3 times per week, is expected, but you can do that any way you want - even 15 minutes every day works, too!  (every 30 minutes of practice equals 10 points, and 30 "practice" points are expected each week.  Remember:  Extra practice = extra points!!!  It's a great way to earn extra credit!!

6th Grade Band

We're working on Concert Scales & Arpeggios, Foundation Study #2, and also our newest fundamental of music - the C Chromatic Scale - get your student to show you how a chromatic scale works - it's really cool!!

We're also learning how to pick out a solo, and picking them out during "White Out," so we can begin preparations for 6th Grade Solo Night in May!

Watch for information about our upcoming concert on March 16th!  We'll be 'strutin our stuff' in the Auditorium and then can watch the MHS Jazz Band in the Commons Area as they present "Chips and Salsa."

GET COPIES OF PHOTOS OF BAND-O-RAMA, 6TH GRADE SOLO NIGHT & MORE!!!

You can view Manistee Bands' photos at the Snapfish Group Room - Manistee Bands. Go there by going to www.manisteebands.snapfish.com/snapfish.  Password is:  Chippewas. You'll need to set up your own account, but after that, you can view the photos.

Want to purchase some of those?  Or, any photos you may wish to purchase through Snapfish?  Enter snapfish by going first to www.photophly.com, find "Manistee Bands" as the group name, and enter snapfish from their portal.  We'll make 3% on every order, whether it's band photos or your own photos! 

Those wishing to purchase any of the photos on the Snapfish Group Room through a local retailer, please contact Mrs. Swan-Eagan for negatives &/or digital files.

Band Boosters


Manistee Band Boosters usually meet the 2nd Thursday of the Month in the MHS Band Room at 7:30 p.m.  All interested persons are welcome to come. 

The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Manistee Band Boosters will be: Tuesday, February 9th at 7:30 p.m. - watch the website for information - to date, next meeting will be in January.

Please consider joining the Manistee Band Boosters in their efforts to support the Manistee Band Program.  The support comes in the forms of volunteerism and fund raising, and we can use many people with lots of different skills - Please consider donating an hour or a day, and donate where you think your skills or time allow.  Any help is appreciated!
